We offer our valued volunteers to volunteer with us, so together we can Impact positively the communities.

INTERNSHIP

Community Impact Volunteers of Ghana (CIVoG) has a Medical internship program, Physiotherapy Internship Program as well as Veterinary internship program in the municipal, district and mission hospitals in Ghana, for students who are keen on gaining some first-hand international work experience in these fields. The health facilities are so welcoming to our interns and together you make a great team.

What will I do as an intern?
Your choice of program as an intern, will help to assign you the work schedule depending on your expertise and knowledge. To intern with our Medical Internship program, participants mostly get to work with the doctors/nurses in the clinic and they get involved in daily tasks like – checking the weight and temperature of the patients, cleaning wounds, and also doing administrative tasks in the placement, you will also visit the villages from time to time with the health outreach team to offer medication to the sick in the villages

Physiotherapy Internship Program, is super popular and it’s a department of medicine that is essentially needed here, so interns on this program are always hand full, both at Kids and Adults Physiotherapy departments. Interns will be working under the professionals, learning various techniques involved in the all-important physiotherapy. Interns will also learn various methods of stress management, relaxation exercises.

Veterinary Internship Program, Interns who are veterinarians or student veterinarians and are interested in having an experience abroad should join our team for this professional encounter. Interns will work in the district and municipal veterinary clinics and also with the department Agriculture in the districts. There is a lot of field trips to the countryside to with department and the clinic.

Optical  Internship Program, is super popular, and it’s a department of medicine that is essentially needed here, so interns on this program are always hand full, both at Kids and Adults optical departments. Interns will be working under the professionals, and will bring their experience on board.

GENERAL PROGRAMMES

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION

If you are someone who is interested in the conservation of nature, protecting fresh water bodies, planting trees, working with the Environmental Protection Agency then this would the right volunteering opportunity for you. We have the record of having hosted several high school/ college student groups as well as gap year travelers and backpackers, who relentlessly desire to contribute towards saving this world and making it a better place to live. Hence, Impacting Our World.

Responsibilities as a Volunteer for Environmental Conservation Programs?

  • Help in the conservation and preservation work as guided by the project coordinator.
  • Learn about the flora and fauna of the place where you’re working, and enhance your knowledge.
  • Work with local communities who live in the regions, and conserve the environment through indigenous methods.
  • Work with environmental protection Agency and the Forestry commission in maintenance work and upkeep of the forest and other projects as may be assigned.
  • Engage in sanitation and conservation advocacy and conservation initiatives.

SPECIAL NEED & DISABLED CARE VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME

Volunteer for Special Need & Disabled Care Program with Community Impact Volunteers of Ghana (CIVoG) and take care of children with physical disabilities, visual impairment and with hearing impairment and the prosthetics and Orthotics Center. Volunteers need to be extremely patient and empathetic towards the children while showing them with adequate love & care. Your main focus should be on the well-being of these special kids. While this is one of the most challenging volunteering programs, it is undoubtedly the most satisfying as well.

Responsibilities at the project include:

  • Reading to the kids especially the visually impaired and organise games for them
  • Volunteers will engage kids in mindful games, and teach them basic lessons
  • Volunteers will engage kids in helping them to make crafts and paintings
  • Offer Assistance to the caretaking mothers, by bathing and dressing the disabled kids.

ROBOTICS PROGRAM

Are you interested in our community Robotics teaching program, are you into Coding, AI, and STEM generally? Community Impact Volunteers of Ghana collaborate with community robotic clubs, and public school for skills training to develop the children in the communities, and to engage them during school and on vacations. this will help keep them out of trouble on the streets. Volunteers with expertise in this area are welcome. We desperately promoting Robotics with some start up and your presence will help do something good for the kids. Come join us in this direction.

RURAL HEALTHCARE & MEDICAL VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME

Are you a Medical, Nursing, Undergraduate medical student or a healthcare professional looking for medical volunteer opportunities abroad to support the healthcare system in developing countries and as well wish to gain hands-on experience in the field of medicine in the rural, district and municipal areas? Community Impact Volunteers of Ghana (CIVoG) provide that opportunity right here in Ghana. Volunteers who wish to join these programs would get to work under the supervision of professional doctors, nurses, physiotherapist. Pre-medical student volunteers will assist in the day to day activities. The medical volunteering opportunities include the following departments, CHIPS (Community–Based Health Planning and Services) Compound, Palliative care unit, Public Health, Emergency, Midwifery, General Medicine, Radiology, Dental, Ophthalmology, HIV/AIDS support and care, Pediatric, Surgery, Maternity, OPD, Pharmacology, Microbiology & Immunology, Internal Medicine, Nutrition, and Nursing.The medical and healthcare volunteer program opportunities are available throughout the year with flexible start dates and durations. Choose your date and duration and we are good to go with you.

Serving as a volunteer will not only give you the opportunity to do something good for the people living in the underprivileged societies, and enhance your practical knowledge and skills, but it’ll also boost your career, keeping you a step ahead of your peers. You’ll also get a Certificate of Completion after you are successfully done with the project.

SENIOR VOLUNTEERS ABROAD PROGRAM

Are you in search for volunteer opportunities for seniors or older adults? If you are an older adult traveler going on a career break, a senior looking for volunteer opportunities as a retiree, or if you simply want to explore a meaningful and impactful form of travel as an older adult, volunteering abroad with Community Impact Volunteers of Ghana (CIVoG) provides that perfect opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of one of the most peaceful, and friendly country’s called Ghana, a country of culture and tradition and with many more to see and experience, you also contribute significantly to vital community projects that will forever value your support.
Senior volunteer work ranges from teaching English and French which is of high value in pre-schools, primary, junior and senior high schools. Also Seniors will support in Orphanages. Read to students at Schools’ for the blind and importantly any area they show interest in, be it health in the rural communities, environmental and wildlife conservation projects, CIVoG will make it available. It is of utmost importance to state that CIVoG provides a SAFE and SECURED, environment and well oriented HOST FAMILY for our cherished Seniors, like all other Volunteers.

How to Volunteer Abroad as a Senior with CIVoG,
To volunteer abroad with CIVoG? It’s so easy, all you need to do is follow our online application process and submit, stating your area of interest and when you intend arriving, period of stay and we are so good to go. If you are volunteering as a family unit of two, you are welcome. we recommend that you follow the same process.

SCHOOL TEACHING PROGRAM (PRE-SCHOOL, KINDARGARTEN, PRIMARY)

Community Impact Volunteers of Ghana has close working relationship with the District and Municipal education directorate who have an appreciation for our volunteers and volunteer-interns who assist in teaching English language, Mathematics, Science, Computer technology, Art and painting, sports, and other subjects or extra curriculum activities at nursery, primary, junior secondary schools and Senior High Schools most especially in the deprived communities, to continue with this good working relationship which is of immense importance to the villages. They will under study the local teacher to become familiar with the school, the children, and the teaching curriculum during the first week of classes. If the volunteer or intern is ready at the beginning of the second week, he or she may begin teaching independently.

ORPHANAGE CARE PROGRAM

There are a number of well managed and monitored orphanage institutions by the social welfare department we partner with to provide them with volunteers who have these orphans and abandoned children at heart and will want to assist, care for and provide them with education in the homes, organize games for them and play with them. Caring include, assisting in cooking for the children, bathing them, fetching water and feeding the children, teaching them songs, painting with them. It’s important to note that volunteers will observe local teachers and caregivers during the first week at the orphanage with regard to lesson plans, schedules and teaching curriculum. If the volunteer or volunteer-intern is ready by the beginning of the second week, he or she may begin teaching independently. This is to foster cohesion.
This is a support programme solely for girls to help them stay in school to complete their education. It comes in the form of learning materials and school fees. Rural poverty is denying a lot of gifted girls from achieving their potential. With your support we want end it. Families that desire to help these girls will be given feedback on their academic progression.
